New Purchase

Well got so many bloody chickens had to buy a new coop,was successful in winning the auction on Trade me...again....Syd helped me go and pick it up.Thank god as there was tractor driving involved and lots of "man handling"

Keith lent his tractor to get the damn thing off and put in place....Lizzie helped me clean it out and I put some straw in until I get more shavings.

Today (Tuesday) got my first egg....

Seeing as how my Mum looks at this I should give her the full tour

These guys are my sanity....always bring me back down to earth with a thump...they dont care if I have a hard day or someone pissed me off they just want feeding or love....

Some new babies

Here are a couple of the new additions to the menagerie ....Mum will be pleased with one lot.... little 2week old pekin ducklings and a baby chicken called Uno as it is the only one that hatched from my chilly bin incubator that I built.  Is a little barnvelder chook...time will tell if its a boy or girl... Lavendar bantam is showing Uno how to look for food...very cute

Ducks are Lizzie's really her Christmas prezzie, 3 little pekin ducks, hopefully two girls and a boy...again time will tell, also if Lizzie actually looks after them

I have four clucky chooks now, three sitting on eggs, some mine, some bought in...the fourth one I am waiting for some chicks to come from a friend who is incubating them for me, hopefully chooky will stay clucky long enough for me to slip the babies under then I wont need to look after them too much...LOL

Learning

After checking out Marcias blog my daughter talked me into trying it for myself......kinda fun really, hoping my family around the world will be able to have a look and see what I am up to......
